London Story.

London is inspiring. Each street is buzzing with life, each corner holds a new area to explore and
people around you are constantly on the move - there is no time to waste in this city we do not visit it often which makes every trip a special one for us, even though we live just over 2 hours drive from it. There is just so much to see and do that you just must plan in advance on what you want to do or see, especially if it is a short break or a long weekend away - you will just run out of time!

It has an atmosphere like no other. The people are like no other. And it is inspiring from the very first moment you get to the city. I find it quite tiring, personally I would not want to move to live there permanently, but visiting - absolutely love it.

I found that we have a similar-ish rout when we travel London. It always includes Big Ben (it is a must though, you just can't avoid it), London eye, Tower Bridge, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and gardens around it and multiple museums. Big Ben ( The Queen Elizabeth clock tower bell) is an iconic view and the pictures are always gorgeous and feel very British if I must say, especially if you manage to get the red bus in it as well. You might struggle a bit with people trying to take photos whilst crossing the bridge but this just requires a bit more patience and you are good. But there is one thing that was upsetting with Big Ben view - August 2017 Big Ben has been silenced until 2021 as the iconic structure undergoes urgent repair work.

"The 160-year-old tower, which is a Unesco World Heritage site, will undergo £29 million of work to
increase energy efficiency and redecorate the interior of the building." So you wont see much of it since it is covered for restoration works and wont hear its bong unless you are visiting over the festive period when they still had it going.

With London Eye I have a mixed feeling kind of a relationship. I bet the views from it are stunning and I bet it is worth every penny and every minute on it but I have personally never had a trip on it yet. First time we visited it was not on our schedule, and last time it was closed for repairs and this time.... This time we just walked pass it because we just did not feel like doing it this time. But once again, it is a must see if not go on when you are visiting London because the views are amazing.

London tower bridge is one of London's famous bridges and one of many must-see landmarks in
London with a glass floor and modern exhibitions it is a must visit. It was a very quick stop this time since we got to the Christmas Market quite late and did not feel like freezing any longer that we needed to. It was quite dark but pictures were worth every second of cold weather. The Christmas Market was surprisingly small for what I expected it to be, but still good with a wide range of food and drinks served on the banks or river Thames. There is also an old ship - HMS Belfast - that is permanently moored as a museum ship on the River Thames. I believe it is now a museum ship operated by the Imperial War Museum.

Speaking of museums - This is my personal favourite. Every time we visit the Natural History Museum which is always amazing and full of new exhibitions ( they had Venom : Killer and Cure exhibition on now). They have everything there from Dinosaurs to humans and all sorts. This season the had an Ice rink and a Carousel outside the building as well so it really gets you into the Christmasy feeling. And also the Science Museum, which might not change as much as I would love it to, but I just enjoy wandering around it. Imperial War Museum seemed amazing last time but this time we paid a visit to the National Army Museum instead and we had so much fun! I tried on some uniforms and learned how to assemble a musket, watched some very good films about war and I highly recommend everyone to find time and visit it.

Buckingham Palace is a must as well. At least it is on my list! We normally just wander around the
park around it until we make our way to the Palace where we watch a bit of the guards walking around, take a couple of pictures and go on our way.

And of course, a winter time must, Winder Wonderland in Hyde Park. Ah, the mulled cider and wine and crepes and everything winter. There are attractions for young and old and you will never regret visiting it. There was a bit of a queue to enter but only because they had high security on the entrance - which is always a bonus. We went on several rides and then had a couple of warming drinks and kept on wandering around inspired by the Christmas atmosphere.

We came back home on a 3 hour journey on the bus and were absolutely exhausted but we have managed to do so much in only 2 days. London has so much more to offer, but we were more than satisfied with the things we have managed to see and do. Lots of love to you, London. See you next time!
